Planning ahead -reopening

Planning for re-opening of the practice

We are working tirelessly to prepare the practice for reopening. In the meantime, we are still your dentist and determined to do everything we can to provide you with care during this time.

Demand will be extremely high when we reopen. We need to run a very efficient and safe clinic.

Free of charge virtual dental check-ups during the next month

We may be contacting you soon to book a free of charge virtual dental check-up. By carrying out virtual dental check-ups we can start to plan our appointment book for reopening.

This will enable us to carry out any priority treatment first of all and ensure bookings are made efficiently. This allows us to make best use of the time available and reduce waiting times

Why do I need a virtual dental check-up?

  1. If you are due for your routine check-up during lock down period.

  2. If you have a small concern or niggle. We may be able to give you advice to prevent problems from worsening.

  3. You may wish to discuss new treatment needs or previously discussed options. As we are able to access your full dental records, we can go through what your options maybe, including advantages, alternatives and what may be involved.

  4. If appropriate we can give you access to one of our priority face to face appointments when the practice reopens.

How does a virtual dental examination work?

  1. You book an appointment at time and day convenient to you.

  2. To help, evening, weekend and early morning appointments are available.

  3. The dentist will call you.

  4. Ideally this call will be a video call, we can simply call your landline if you prefer.

  5. There is no charge for this service. It is in addition to your face to face examination when we reopen

What if I don’t know what to do!

A lot of us are becoming more familiar with video calling during this period. However, if you so not have the facility to do this, we can offer a landline call or help you to access video calling services.

Vulnerable patients

We are making a big effort to contact vulnerable patients who do not have access to email or a computer. We do not want vulnerable people to slip through the net during this time.

Please help us. If you have an elderly member of your family or someone you know (maybe a neighbour) who you know is a patient at this practice. Please reach out and let them know of this service. They can call 07415 917931 and speak to a dentist 7 days a week.

A summary of the current practice situation

We are…

  1. Still closed for face to face appointments.

  2. Open and available to give advice, antibiotics, emergency dental kits and triage patients to the local emergency dental clinic (which is provided face to face treatment only in the most extreme circumstances). The number you need is 07415 917931

  3. Holding a socially distanced garden clinic by appointment only to.

  4. Providing the above free of charge,  7 days a week to our own patients…and extending this offer to their friends, colleagues and families at this time.

  5. Providing free of charge virtual dental check-ups in addition to your normal check-up appointments when we reopen

A member of our team may contact you shortly if you are due for your check-up, to offer you the option of a virtual consultation with a dentist. However, please feel free to email wem@spadental.co.uk to arrange a virtual check-up sooner if you need to.
